"7 minutes" on the Prinect Printready System
Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is
presenting its JDF strategy with Prinect at this year's Seybold
Conference which takes place in Amsterdam from June 11 to 13.
Seybold is making the future importance of Job Definition Format
(JDF) the motto for the whole of the first day of the conference.
"End-to-end networking of all operation-relevant processes is of
decisive importance in order for printshops and media service
providers to maintain competitiveness. JDF has a key role to play
in this as the solution for integrating processes", says Dr. Peter
Leu, Head of Prinect Product Management at Heidelberg.
On June 11, Leu will explain the JDF-based Prinect workflow
solution which allows users to organize and integrate all
operation-relevant prepress, press and postpress processes. The
modular concept offers complete vertical and horizontal networking
of all processes, something which no other competitor involved in
the graphic arts industry can offer to the same degree. This
modular design means that Prinect offers an entry-level solution
for small printshops as well as a high-end workflow solution for
industrial printers whose printing operations are internationally
distributed over several sites. Heidelberg's key areas of focus
when enhancing Prinect's functions include the customer
interface, relationships with partners and suppliers, and
multi-site, distributed production.
Wiebke Stoltenberg from Prinect Product Management will
present Heidelberg's JDF prepress workflow Prinect Printready
System within the framework of the "7 Minutes with a JDF Vendor".
The Prinect Printready System provides the opportunity to map and
thus automate all the prepress tasks in a freely configurable,
digital workflow. In line with the basic principle of Prinect, the
new solution is fully modular so that individual components can be
selected and added to the overall system rapidly and easily
depending on specific requirements. The Prinect Printready System
is aimed not just at Heidelberg's existing customers throughout
the graphic arts industry. The open system concept is also suitable
for companies using other makes of product.
In conclusion, Dr. Rainer Prosi, JDF Development and Prinect
Integration, will give an account of the short- and medium-term
prospects for JDF. "The European Seybold Conference is the ideal
platform for Heidelberg to promote the JDF technology and use
practical examples to convince the print media industry of the
revolutionary opportunities it offers in process integration", Leu
continues.
Seybold offers an early-bird rate until May 23rd. Further
