The Java-based Prinalyze database renders all business processes
on the Quickmaster DI 46-4 transparent • Open interfaces to
industry software • Retrofittable software solution
The Quickmaster DI 46-4, Heidelberg's globally
successful 35 x 50 cm digital offset press with direct imaging of
printing plates, is ideal for horizontal integration into the
printshop workflow in its drupa 2000 generation. The new Java-based
Prinalyze database provides printers with greater transparency of
business processes.
Prinalyze is a new front-end database system with open
interfaces to various industry software systems. It is available as
an option and can be retrofitted to existing machines. Prinalyze
records and evaluates all the DI system's operating data. Following
the complete integration of the Quickmaster DI 46-4 into the
content workflow, users now have a platform for digital integration
of business processes.
Quickly changing market requirements and price pressures mean
that the print on demand sector in particular finds itself facing
ever new challenges. Users for their part are developing new
strategic goals in order to be able to make quick structural
changes to their sales organization, internal production flows and
management processes. Business management and technical
applications need to be able to communicate with each other in
order to ensure optimum business processes over the long term.
Greater transparency for business success
The Prinalyze database records all machine and RIP processes,
collates these for specific jobs and then evaluates them. This
gives users even better financial control over their jobs and job
structure. What job profiles are best suited for maximizing profits
on the Quickmaster DI 46-4 and which are less suited? This is a
question that can now be answered very precisely using the
highly-accurate data analysis features.
All operational and order data are recorded by the system.
Prinalyze provides Quickmaster DI users with a means to optimize
job tracking over the entire workflow and to maintain an overview
of the status of all orders currently being processed, together
with utilization levels. This provides a transparent picture of the
order situation at any given time, identifies which jobs are
assigned to which orders, indicates how orders are structured and
improves organization.
Prinalyze tools
The Prinalyze performance spectrum is made up of various
tools. Firstly, the ConfigTool preconfigures the default values
such as units, hourly rates, paper price, grammages and proofer
used. The OrderTool is used to assign individual jobs to an order,
the ReportTool evaluates, searches for, interrogates and corrects
data records, while the StatusTool provides an overview of the
current status of the Quickmaster DI system.
Prinalyze is a Java-based database for any number of Java
clients on Mac, PC or Unix systems. No browsers are required for
display purposes. The SYLK standard format enables data to be
exported to popular office applications. The host interface
provides a link to DataControl, Printy32 and WinKAAR/Prinance. An
interface to the Job Definition Format (JDF) will be available in
the next release (upgrade feature).
