Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG and Adobe Systems Incorporated
announced that they have resolved out of court the pending
litigation regarding use of Heidelberger's U.S. patent no.
4,393,399 and German patent no. 29 20 058 on computer retouching of
color images in Adobe software products
Each party has dismissed its claims against the other. As
part of the resolution, both companies agreed on certain provisions
with respect to their intellectual property portfolios, which will
enhance both companies' abilities to develop professional software
solutions for the benefit of their customers. The details of the
settlement are confidential.

the intellectual property rights of both companies and allows us to
move forward and concentrate on our customers," said Colleen
