The Print Media Academy of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG has
developed a new four-day program especially for advertising
agencies, publishing companies and manufacturers: the Print Buyer
University. It gives marketing and purchasing professionals as well
as print production managers the skills to take offset print
projects to a new level.
Whether the participants handle print projects for their own
company or on behalf of a client, they'll benefit enormously from
this program of information-packed seminars and workshops with a
strong practical emphasis. The program gives specialized knowledge
that professionals need to manage high-value offset print projects
and to achieve top quality - ideally supplementing the expertise
they already have in areas such as design, marketing or purchasing.
The focus is on ushering a job through the procurement and
production process and on ensuring consistency of quality,
regardless of where and when a job is printed, so that packaging,
annual reports and corporate communications conform to the
organization's standards worldwide. Participants receive guidance
on applying international standards for drawing up job
specifications and selecting providers. They will be able to judge
print quality and to make "press pass" decisions with
confidence.
Participants gain an understanding of print in all of its
complexity, straight from the best possible source: Heidelberger
Druckmaschinen AG. They will benefit from the knowledge of print
experts, who have extensive experience with sheetfed offset
equipment and efficient production processes. The groups are kept
small to ensure effective learning. Heidelberg's technical
facilities are available for practical exercises involving actual
press runs. At the end of the program, participants receive the
title "Print Media Advisor", certifying their ability to
manage complex offset print projects.
The Print Buyer University course will take place on January
13-16, 2009 in Heidelberg, Germany. Registrations should be sent to
the Print Media Academy by November 28, 2008. More detailed
