Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is offering a
number of new modules for its Stahlfolder Flexomailer (based on the
TH/KH folder generation) and its saddlestitchers. These new modules
enhance the finishing options for the end product and increase
added value in postpress. Ideal for specialization and stealing a
lead on the competition, the new products are available as of
today.
Inline Punch PT 220
The fully automatic Inline Punch PT 220 punches folded
and single sheets after the folder or saddlestitcher. The maximum
speed is up to 10,500 copies per hour, depending on the product
length and thickness. The maximum format size is 800 x 220
millimeters (31.5 x 8.67 inches) and the minimum 100 x 80
millimeters (3.94 x 3.15 inches). The PT 220 accommodates a wide
variety of finishing options - from tear-off/corner perforation,
Wire-O punching and file hole punching to central, register and
three-sided cutting and (bandsteel) die cutting for special shapes.
The product thicknesses processed are six millimeters (0.236 inch)
for cutting, three millimeters (0.118 inch) for perforation and two
millimeters (0.079 inch) for the cutting die.
The Inline Punch PT 220 is a beam cutting press. Sheets are
transferred directly from the folder or saddlestitcher using a
height-adjustable infeed belt. A pneumatic alignment system
positions the sheet accurately in the machine, ensuring precision
punching.
Vacuum tables
There are specially tailored mailing tables for the
Flexomailer TH 56 (working width: 56 centimeter/22 inches) and the
Flexomailer TH 82 (working width: 82 centimeters/32 inches). Each
comes in lengths of two meters (79 inches) and 3.30 meters (130
inches). They provide a cost-effective introduction to one-up and
two-up production. The mailing table serves as a basic module, with
add-on units such as an inkjet station, cardtipper, sample
dispenser, labeler and plow folder for turning over flaps.
The mailing products are transported by movable suction tapes
which guide them with absolute precision. The mailing table is easy
to use, offering great flexibility and a wide variety of
applications. It has electric height adjustment and rollers allow
it to be used anywhere on the Flexomailer.
Cardtipper
The new cardtipper is a module for dispensing products
such as coupons, booklets and other types of cards made from paper,
cardboard or plastic. It can process sizes ranging from 3 x 4
centimeters (1.18 x 1.57 inches) to 32 x 40 centimeters (12.60 x
15.75 inches) and a product thickness of 30 millimeters (1.18
inches). Its height is infinitely adjustable, as is its position -
either in the direction of travel or perpendicular to it. Simple
operation and format adjustment without the use of tools ensure
short make-ready times when changing products. A suction tape which
is precisely synchronized with the folding station or mailing table
transports the products. Even at high speeds of up to 120 meters
(around 400 feet) per minute, consistently accurate positioning is
achieved. Once dispensed, the product is fixed using soluble
fugitive glue. It can thus be separated at any time without being
damaged.
