Producing packages easily and quickly
At Ipex, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is
unveiling the new SAB semi-automatic bander. This unit sleeve-wraps
folded sheets, brochures and books into neat, uniform packages.
This ensures perfect pile loading onto pallets, easier handling
when finishing intermediate products or packaging the end product.
The extremely short setup time, just a few minutes, means
that the SAB can be used cost-effectively for even the shortest of
job runs. The excellent package quality is achieved through
automatic pressing and sleeve-wrapping. The (paper or plastic)
wrapping is sealed perfectly using ultrasound. Operator error is
therefore eliminated.
The SAB can also be used to bundle heavy, unevenly-balanced
products by folding them into uniform packages. Protective boxes
can easily be enclosed before the sleeve-wrapping stage. The
products can be sleeve-wrapped and their edges aligned
simultaneously.
The SAB can be used with any delivery system for folders,
saddle stitchers or adhesive binders. The optional angular
configuration employs an automatic pushing device to help the
packages manoevre around this angle. As a result, they have less
distance to travel.
Thanks to the SAB, up to 75 percent of the folder's
total capacity can be utilized in two-up production. This
corresponds to the average utilization level for folders.
Sleeve-wrapping with the SAB requires no additional effort on the
part of the folder operator.
