Turkish packaging print shop Yüksel Kutu has already ordered
its second Varimatrix 105 CS die cutter from Heidelberger
Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg). This comes hot on the heels of its
first Varimatrix 105 CS, which was ordered at drupa 2008 and
installed in Istanbul. Other new equipment at the print shop
includes a Speedmaster CD 102 five-color press with coating unit
and a POLAR P 115 cutter. Also under discussion is the purchase of
a Speedmaster XL 75 four-color press, a CtP platesetter, and a
folder gluer. Yüksel Kutu had previously only bought
remarketed equipment, and it is extremely happy with the enhanced
productivity and user-friendliness of the new arrivals. "We
have boosted quality with the new die cutter and have also received
new orders that involve stripping," explain satisfied
customers Abdullah Yüksel and his nephew Süleyman
Yüksel, co-owners of Yüksel Kutu. "We know we can
rely on good and close cooperation with Heidelberg. We used to work
with a Heidelberg cylinder press and an older cutter model, but now
we can boost productivity using the same tools on the Varimatrix
105. The higher production speed and, in particular, quicker job
changes make production more efficient," continues Abdullah
Yüksel.
Yüksel Kutu is one of Turkey's largest print shops.
Based in Istanbul, the company has 280 employees and produces
high-quality food and confectionery packaging in grammages of
between 300 and 450 grams per square meter.
"We are building up a growing reputation as an complete
solution provider for packaging customers and are always there to
provide advice when needed," explains Carsten Heitkamp,
Managing Director of Heidelberg Turkey. "Our service team
installed the Varimatrix 105 and the machine operators were trained
by Heidelberg Turkey," he continues. "It is very interesting
to follow the commercial thought processes of this customer. A
close look at machine availability, wage costs and capacity limits
made it clear that, even in a country with low wage costs such as
Turkey, a solution from Heidelberg was the best way of achieving
the company's growth objectives. The fact that the print shop has
already commissioned a second Varimatrix demonstrates the success
of this customer's strategy," concludes Heitkamp.
Heidelberg opened its Turkish sales company on November 1,
2001. It employs 77 staff here, 35 of them in the service team.
A cost-effective entry-level solution to die cutting and
embossing, the Varimatrix 105 CS scores well thanks to its
excellent flexibility and short makeready times. User guidance via
a touchscreen display also ensures easy handling. The letters CS
stand for cutting and stripping.
