Effective print products with high profit margins
Find out how print shops can optimize margins in the customer magazine of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) in its latest issue (number 260). Heidelberg News takes a look at how high-quality brochures and catalogs are produced for the fashion industry at Coan Gráfica Editora in Brazil. The magazine reports from Portugal on Gráfica Calipolense, which produces up to 12 million high-class labels a day. Although K.P.R. in the Czech Republic does not boast such runs, these Prague-based commercial printers, also featured in the latest issue, have recently started to enhance their printed material with embossing and die cutting, using a Heidelberg Varimatrix 105 CS. Finally, it also includes a report on Germany-based Kirchner Print Media, a company that is happy to go beyond the boundaries of the technologically possible.
The magazine also offers a very clear explanation of how the Varimatrix works, initiates its readers in the benefits of various Prinect screening processes, and uses a checklist to show which UV press from Heidelberg is best suited for which surface finishing operation. In addition, Heidelberg News highlights three real-life examples that offer major potential savings using Prinect. Last but not least, it takes its readers to Japan, where a former seed merchant acting out of necessity became a successful printer, and offers insights into one of the world's finest printing museums, Plantin Moretus in Belgium.
