Flowing nicely - workflows from the Prinect system
The new issue of Heidelberg News focuses on workflows and will cast more light on the issue of process optimization from bits and bytes. Small and midsize printshops in particular often have reservations about workflow solutions, which they frequently consider to be too expensive, too complicated or simply too big.
Heidelberg will therefore be using Issue 52 of its customer magazine to highlight the main components of its modular Prinect system, calculate payback times for sample investments and utilize the example of the Munich-based Color Group to demonstrate how its four companies can be successfully linked with Prinect. The new issue also features a discussion by a group of international experts on the subject of "Networking and JDF" and shows how printshop owners no longer have to suffer nightmares about overnight defects in printing plates - thanks to Prinect.
The magazine also asks Heidelberg CEO, Bernhard Schreier, on his views for 2005, weighs up the pros and cons of a range of financing solutions and gives an insight into the business models of Heidelberg customers PIP Printing from the USA and Cezar from Poland.
The magazine introduces the reader to a new generation of long perfecting presses, presents the Speedmaster XL 105 in "XL detail" and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of frequency-modulated screening. It also takes a look behind the walls of a printshop in a Swiss convent, examines the ancient ceremony used in Germany to mark an apprentice book printer's official completion of his apprenticeship, and shows readers a controversial work of art from the Netherlands.
Last but not least, Heidelberg News also contains a new column entitled "Tips & Tricks" which provides advice on using different Prinect modules.
