Innovation - the success factor for the future is the motto of
Edition II/2001 of the DI Magazine.
To reflect this motto, the current edition is focusing
closely on the "batch run" technology of the new
Quickmaster DI 46-4 Pro. "As an extension of Heidelberg's
successful Direct Imaging strategy, this machine represents a
logical further development in terms of flexibility, quality and
user-friendliness", explains Gotthard Schmid, Development
Manager and new Head of the Direct Imaging Product Center. The
significantly enhanced Quickmaster DI Pro was unveiled at Print 01
in Chicago. The latest edition of the DI Magazine will also list
where the new DI machine will be appearing next.
The cover story highlights the machine's new features,
which include the powerful stream feeder and user-friendly press
control facilitated by the CP2000 Center. Of further interest are
the extended areas of application that are now available to DI
users in terms of printing stock and inks. The first customers to
use the new QM DI Pro relate their experiences in a discussion with
other experts. "We're de-lighted" is their message.
Their conclusions? Up to 40 percent higher productivity and
better quality. "With the Quickmaster DI Pro, there's been
a dramatic sea change on the market", adds Peter Gissler from
Gissler Druck AG in Allschwil, near Basle, Switzerland.
The next chapter of another success story should also be told
- the 100th Speed-master 74 DI has now been shipped from the
Wiesloch plant. Just like the very first Speedmaster DI, it will be
going to Japan to join Loyal Digital Planning. The new DI Magazine
also contains lots of useful 'tips and tricks', including
ideas for Delta Technology. There is also background information on
the new impositioning software Signastation. Further reports and
information relating to the subject of direct imaging will round
off this packed edition. DI Magazine is published by the Direct
Imaging Product Center of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG and
appears three times a year in German, English, French and Spanish.
