Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is now fitting the entry-level versions of its "Prosetter" violet platesetter series with a new drive motor for the rotating mirror and new software. This will significantly increase the productivity of existing entry-level versions. All Prosetter models will also be equipped with a laser head with a 60 milliwatt laser head.
These moves will boost plate throughput for Prosetter entry-level versions in small, medium, and large formats by up to 30 percent. At the same time, the more powerful laser head is preparing the Prosetter for the move to future photopolymer plate technologies.
Users of existing standard Prosetter versions will also have the option to equip their platesetters with a software update that will increase throughput by up to 15 percent.
"In particular, users switching to a CtP workflow will benefit from the innovations in our Prosetter family. They will now receive a more powerful device at an attractive price/performance ratio," says Andreas Forer, Head of CtP Product Management at Heidelberg, explaining the benefits of the new generation of platesetters.
