OEM contract with Esko Graphics
Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is now offering Printmaster GTO 52, Printmaster QM 46 and Speedmaster SM 52 users the Polysetter 46 or Polysetter 52 polyester platesetter in 2-up format, a move which closes the gap for Computer to Plate (CtP) newcomers. This means that Heidelberg print service providers who specialize in runs of up to 20,000 in A3 format now have the means to move cost-effectively into the CtP workflow below the level of the Prosetter violet imagesetter range.
The Polysetter is a special polyester CtP system that supplies color-separated, punched and register-accurate polyester plates that are ready for immediate use in the press. The developer for the polyester plates is already integrated in the device. This saves more time and reduces the solution's overall space requirements. The polyester printing plates and all development chemicals can be obtained via Heidelberg sales outlets.
Polysetter 46 Heidelberg supplies the Polysetter 46 (not available in Germany) with the entry level workflow solution RipMate. This imagesetter is ideal for one- and two-color print jobs. It provides Printmaster QM 46 users with the opportunity to move into CtP.
Polysetter 52 The Polysetter 52 is supplied with the Heidelberg Metadimension workflow, whose basic configuration can be extended as required. With its internal drum architecture and the repeat accuracy that this enables, it is ideal for four-color print jobs. The Polysetter 52 is best equipped with two cassettes for different material widths and two different integrated punches.
"The Polysetter range allows Heidelberg to offer smaller printshops and media service providers who process a lot of short runs a cost-effective means of moving into the CtP workflow while at the same time considerably speeding up their order processing," says Andreas Forer, Head of Product Management Imaging Systems at Heidelberg.
The imagesetters are available now through Heidelberg sales organizations in Germany (exception: Polysetter 46), the UK, Australia and New Zealand. The sales organizations can also provide information about the price of particular configurations on request.
For the sale of the Polysetter 46 and Polysetter 52, Heidelberg has signed an OEM contract with the Danish CtP manufacturer Esko Graphics. The Polysetter range is based on Esko Graphics' DPX technology which is already well established on the market.
