The New Heidelberg Contiweb FD Paster

Altough the newspaper world will have to wait until drupa 2000 to see the Mainstream 80, its first component, the new Contiweb FD was shown at Ifra 99

This core driven flying paster featuring state-of-the-art automation, integration and control capabilities is designed to complement the new Mainstream newspaper press.

The FD flying paster features two motorized splits arms with independent sidelay adjustements. An integrated infeed with motor-driven pull roll and dancer feedback control ensures constant web tension. Automated features include chucking and centering of cores, unloading of the expired core after pasting and a roll loading program available with an optional automatic roll loader. An auto web-up system fully integrates the paster with the Mainstream press and an LCD touch screen on the unit simplifies user interface.
