ImageSmart Document Mastering 2.0 enables high-speed, direct
black-and-white and color printing
Heidelberg is now making its latest version of ImageSmart
software available with both the Digimaster 9110 Network Imaging
System and the NexPress 2100 digital color production press -
reinforcing its commitment to enhance customers' workflows in both
digital color and digital black-and white printing.
ImageSmart Document Mastering 2.0 software is a complete
workflow package that is easy to use, featuring simple
"point-and-click" and "drag-and-drop" functionality with a simple
user interface for intuitive navigation.
Employing the open-architecture, PDF-based software, users of
both the Digimaster 9110 and NexPress 2100 systems can easily
manage their documents in black-and-white jobs, color jobs, and
combined jobs with color covers and inserts with black-and-white
body pages. ImageSmart software and Heidelberg's digital color and
digital black-and-white print systems combine to help customers
maximize every part of the production process.
"ImageSmart Document Mastering 2.0 software gives NexPress
2100 and Digimaster 9110 customers a total PDF-based workflow
package that helps them increase productivity and profitability,"
said Len Christopher, director of worldwide market planning for
NexPress Solutions LLC's Black and White Business, which markets
products manufactured by Heidelberg's Digital Print Solution
Center. "Customers can now save time and improve their workflow by
managing jobs on both machines from a single location."
The software's centerpiece is the new SmartBoard software
plug-in developed by Heidelberg, which enables a range of new
functions to be completed within the ImageSmart Document Mastering
software application. It provides full support of job tickets and
enables users to easily change paper color or sizes within a
document, update paper catalogs, specify finishing options such as
stitching and bookletmaking, and import documents directly from the
ImageSmart Document Library, which provides a secure storage area
for electronic documents.
ImageSmart Document Mastering 2.0 is part of Heidelberg's
ImageSmart Workflow Suite, a product portfolio built on a scalable,
truly open architecture and designed to improve digital printing
workflow. ImageSmart software helps printers maximize their
capabilities and provides powerful job submission and document
mastering functions. ImageSmart Document Mastering 2.0 utilizes the
industry-standard Adobe Acrobat 5.0 software.
Software Solutions From Heidelberg
In its booth at the Xplor 2001 Global Conference (booth
#2642), Heidelberg also is demonstrating other key elements of its
total workflow solution for the Digimaster 9110, which are designed
to make the Digimaster more productive and profitable for customers
worldwide:
- DataXceed is a turnkey software solution targeted toward the
data center market. The software works seamlessly with the
Digimaster to recognize and process virtually all of the popular
file formats used in data centers in industry, administration,
banks and insurance companies - enabling cost savings by pooling
printing between functional departments.
- coXist software allows Xerox DigiPath and XDS job submission
software users to reap the benefits of the Digimaster 9110 -
without changing their existing setup. It helps protect
customers' investments in job assembly and storage workflows
by enabling users to add another printer without requiring
additional equipment or training costs.
