Quicksetter 350 - the Flexible Prepress System for Quick
Printers
The new generation of quick printers produces a whole range of small-format publications and printed matter such as advertising materials, letterheads, business cards, price lists and club magazines. They make their daily living from short runs and short deadlines and therefore require a prepress solution that is versatile and allows them a rapid response. Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is presenting a new two-page imagesetter at drupa which meets these needs perfectly. Enter the Quicksetter 350.
The Quicksetter 350 has been built around flexibility. This imagesetter can not only process film with widths of up to 355 millimeters, it can also image polyester plates of formats 250 x 305 millimeters to 355 x 558 millimeters. With its nine resolution settings ranging from 1000 to 3386 dpi and a maximum screen ruling of 70 l/ines per centimeter, the Quicksetter 350 ensures professional output quality every time. It is therefore ideal for four-color general commercial work when imaging film and for two-color jobs when imaging polyester plates. Three optional punch systems - the Printmaster QM 46 offset punch and the Bacher and Stoesser punches - ensure optimum registration and minimize the preparation work required.
The special feature about the Quicksetter 350 is its fully automatic CtPP (Computer to Polyester Plate) workflow for the Printmaster QM 46. Equipped with an online processor and Printmaster QM 46 punch, the unit delivers up to 32 print-ready plates per hour which are already punched and cut to length. These plates then only have to be clamped into the press. The Quicksetter therefore offers considerable potential for rationalizing production, since the user not only saves the cost of film material and film processing, but also saves the time otherwise spent on manual operations and plate copy.
A further advantage of the Quicksetter 350 is its size. This imagesetter, housed on top of the online processor, requires an area of only 120 x 80 centimeters and can be accommodated in even the smallest space.
The Quicksetter 350 is flexible, fast and compact and is therefore the ideal partner for quick printers with two-page presses such as the Printmaster QM 46 and GTO 52 who are looking to satisfy their customers' very diverse requirements. The Quickmaster 350 will be exhibited live at drupa. The complete system will be available at the end of this year.
