At IPEX 2010, which is taking place in Birmingham in the U.K. from
May 18 to 25, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) will be
showcasing its Prinect-S compact workflow integration solution.
Prinect-S is perfect for small and medium-sized print shops that
are looking for a quick and reliable introduction to lean print
production. Users benefit from all the key basic functions required
to combine prepress and pressroom management in a single print shop
workflow. Prinect-S offers automated prepress with PDF processing,
layout creation, and proof/plate output plus management of all
print jobs, including ink presetting. As with other Prinect
solutions, the system adopts a completely job-specific approach.
Job data in JDF format can be transferred from MIS systems to
Prinect-S. What's more, the Prinect Cockpit enables users to check
the status of all print jobs in prepress and the pressroom at any
time.
To output data as a proof or on a printing plate, Prinect-S
uses another new product being unveiled at IPEX 2010 - the Prinect
Renderer. This innovation supports all the screening processes
familiar from Prinect MetaDimension as well as the paper stretch
compensation function optimized for sheetfed printing.
All Prinect-S functions can be installed and operated on a
single computer. Like other Prinect solutions, the system is
operated using a standardized user interface - the Prinect Cockpit.
"Prinect-S is a response to the wish expressed by many small
and medium-sized print shops for a cost-effective and
straightforward gateway to integrated print production. The compact
system offers users all necessary functions, enabling them to
process print jobs efficiently and transparently," explains Marcel
Kiessling, Member of the Management Board responsible for
Heidelberg Services.
Heidelberg offers customers with Prinect Prepress Interface
the attractive option of a package for migration to
Prinect-S.
If required, Prinect-S can be retrofitted with the full range
of Prinect functions.
