Prinect Inspection Control, the inline sheet inspection system from
Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg), has won the
InterTech™ Technology Award 2010 presented by Printing
Industries America. This is the fourth consecutive such award that
various Heidelberg technologies have won over the past four years,
including the Speedmaster XL 105, the Prinect Press Center with
wallscreen and Intellistart, and the inline color measuring system
Prinect Inpress Control.
This year, the panel of international experts was impressed
by the high-resolution two-camera system of Prinect Inspection
Control. This can be used in many different applications and also
identifies printing errors and material defects at an early stage.
Defective sheets are already marked when they arrive in the
delivery pile and can be removed either as soon as the error has
been rectified or later on. This makes it possible to cut waste and
postprocessing costs considerably and maintain customers' high
quality requirements.
Prinect Inspection Control is available in two versions. The
color inspection system with its two high-resolution RGB cameras is
aimed at packaging, label, and high-quality commercial printers,
while the gray scale inspection system with additional inline PDF
inspection offers a solution for safety-oriented print shops that
carry out work for the pharmaceuticals industry, for example.
"The frequency with which Heidelberg products receive the
internationally recognized InterTech Award underlines the
technological leadership of Heidelberg within the industry. In the
future, we will continue to do everything we can to ensure our
machines and services generate even more success for our
customers," says Stephan Plenz, member of the Management Board
responsible for Heidelberg Equipment.
Prinect Inspection Control has been available since 2007 and
is used successfully by many customers all over the world. It can
be supplied for the Speedmaster XL 105 series and will in future
also be available for the new Speedmaster CX 102.
