Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) won the Gold Medal
in the PR category of the "Berliner Type 2000"
International Publication Competition for its "workbook",
a photographic documentation in book form.
The "workbook" was created by Heidelberg in
cooperation with the photographer Jim Rakete as part of the drupa
2000 trade fair. Rakete photographed customers of Heidelberg from
every continent.
The event organizer, kommunkationsverband.de in Bonn, and the
Bundesverband Druck (German Print Association) present awards every
year for publications from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The
aim of the "Berliner Type" competition is to enhance the
quality of publications in the German-speaking world. The prizes
were awarded yesterday, Thursday, in Frankfurt.
The competition is now in its 32nd year, and comprises the
categories PR, conception, advertising, sales promotion, text,
graphic design, photography and printing/finishing. Annual reports,
image brochures, customer and staff newspapers, marketing material
and other printed materials are all evaluated. This year, 352
publications were submitted, 310 of which came from Germany. The
panel of judges awarded nine gold, four silver and seven bronze
medals, plus 32 certificates for excellent individual work. The
competition winners will be presented in the book "Berliner
Type 2000 / Corporate Design Preis 2000" (publisher:
kommunikationsverband.de).
