As a secretary, I'm always right in the middle of whatever is going on. That's because I'm the one everybody comes to to get information and ask questions of all kinds. Coordinating and managing is my job. Because so much comes my way, it's only possible for me to plan my working day in a very rough way. I rarely know in the morning what I'll be confronted with later in the day. So I need lots of flexibility - and good nerves.

I've proven that I have what it takes in the over ten years I've been with the company, first as a secretary to the human resources director, then to the head of production, and now to the head of Sheetfed Operations.

Because I was born and raised in this area, I became aware of Heidelberg as an interesting employer very early on. Because of the company's size and market position, it offers its employees plenty of possibilities for furthering their training and lots of career advancement opportunities.

In my current position, I work closely together with my boss. I have to apply my organizational abilities and keep track of everything that's going on in order to manage his daily schedule, arrange his appointments, prepare meetings and documents, organize trips, and many other things. For example, I also take care of planning factory tours and events to honor long-time employees. To do all this, I naturally also have to have the necessary background knowledge. This motivated me to attend a course on printing technology, among other things.

My work brings me into contact with many different people inside and outside the company. I deal with employees at all levels of the corporate hierarchy. This fills my everyday work with variety and keeps it interesting. I'm confronted with all sorts of opinions and interests, which I need to both understand and communicate.

The only really constant thing at a global player like Heidelberg is change. This makes it absolutely essential for you to be very flexible if you want to work as a secretary for top management. But you also need persistence, the willingness to stand your ground, and above all the ability to work independently and take the initiative. In other words, everything it takes to be ready for anything every day.
