following sample of new product installations:
Advance Graphics & Printing Increases Efficiency with
Quickmaster 46 DI
Advance Graphics & Printing, Inc., located in Chandler,
Okla., recently added a new four-color Quickmaster 46 DI press to
increase production. The color management system and fast plate
imaging on the press have increased productivity and reduced labor
for the family-owned shop. Founded in 1983, Advance Graphics &
Printing serves clients nationwide, including real estate agencies
and auction houses. The general commercial shop also relies on
Heidelberg consumables products - ranging from plates to packing
and blankets - for its prepress and printing needs.
AJ Images Installs POLAR 115 XT Cutter with Compucut
AJ Images, a printing, bindery and electronic prepress
imaging center based in Roselle, N.J., recently installed a POLAR
115 XT with POLAR RA-4 Jogger and Compucut from Heidelberg. The new
cutter was chosen to increase efficiency in the shop while enabling
the company to produce larger volumes of commercial print jobs for
its national and regional client base. Founded in 1967, AJ Images
specializes in the production of medium-run, high-quality printed
communications. The small- to mid-sized shop houses 25 employees,
and has been a Heidelberg customer for 30 years.
Executive Printing & Direct Mail Adds New POLAR 78 X
Cutter
Executive Printing & Direct Mail, Inc., located in
Elmsford, N.Y., recently installed a POLAR 78 X cutter to upgrade
its existing bindery equipment. The shop is using the new cutter to
produce materials such as booklets, direct mail and promotional
materials. Founded in 1987, Executive Printing is a family-owned
and operated general commercial printer that houses eight
employees. The shop services local hospitals, social service
organizations and academic institutions.
Midlands Technical College Installs Prosetter 52
Midlands Technical College of Columbia, S.C., recently
installed a Heidelberg Prosetter 52 to train students on real-world
commercial printing technology. The Commercial Graphic
Communications department now uses complete computer-to-plate
imaging systems and has eliminated film and stripping from its
shop. The Prosetter allows professors to bridge the gap between the
digital printing and traditional sheetfed offset production.
Currently enrolling approximately 40 active students, the
department produces strictly educational work at its shop. Midlands
Tech uses Heidelberg consumables products, including Saphira Violet
plates, Saphira Violet chemicals and filters.
Millennium Bindery Services Increases Productivity with
Stitchmaster ST 270
Millennium Bindery Services, Ltd. of New York, N.Y., recently
added a Stitchmaster ST 270 with an eight-page B 26 folder option
to increase workload capacity. Since the installation, the shop has
seen a 50 percent increase in production due to more efficient
equipment. Founded in 1998, Millennium is an all-Heidelberg bindery
housing 65 employees. The shop serves financial printers,
commercial printers and print brokers.
Morrison Printing Company Installs Printmaster GTO 52 Perfecting
Press
Morrison Printing Company, based in Oklahoma City, Okla.,
recently upgraded its existing equipment with the installation of a
Printmaster GTO 52 five-color press with perfector. The new press
has increased shop production due to faster makeready times and
ease of operation. Currently, the shop is using the new press to
produce general commercial work such as brochures and direct
mailing pieces. Founded in 1937, Morrison Printing is a small,
general commercial printer primarily servicing local and regional
clients, including advertising agencies and graphic designers.
Parker Printing Doubles Productivity with POLAR 92 X Cutter From
Heidelberg
Parker Printing, Inc. of Cedartown, Ga., recently updated its
bindery equipment with the addition of a new POLAR 92 X cutter. The
family-owned shop installed the new cutter to create better cuts on
four-color process jobs ranging from 23x35 sheets to business
cards. Since the installation, the shop's production levels have
doubled. Founded in 1992, Parker Printing houses nine employees and
services colleges, hospitals and retailers nationwide.
Roberts Printing Increases Productivity with Heidelberg
Speedmaster 74
Roberts Printing reported a 25 percent increase in
productivity and substantial quality improvements resulting from
the recent addition of a six-color Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 74
perfecting press to its all-Heidelberg pressroom. Since the
installation, the highly automated press has enabled the
Clearwater, Fla.-based commercial sheetfed printer to reduce its
shift schedule while significantly boosting pressroom capacity.
Roberts Printing produces a broad range of high-quality
short-to-long-run, single-to-six-color work for a loyal customer
base. Established as a storefront operation in 1968, the $ 8
million general commercial sheetfed printer recorded 10 percent
annual sales growth in each of the past five years.
Sir Speedy Increases Production with New Quickmaster DI 46
Sir Speedy of Paramus, N.J., has increased production and
capacity with the recent installation of a four-color Quickmaster
DI 46 press from Heidelberg. The new press is being used to produce
small runs of commercial work at 10,000 impressions per hour with
consistent quality. In addition, the shop now is able to produce
work that once took a week to complete in less than three days.
Founded in 1979, Sir Speedy is a small family-owned printer that
houses seven employees. The shop services regional clients such as
advertising agencies, small local businesses and corporations.
The Journeyman Press Adds Speedmaster CD 102 to All-Heidelberg
Pressroom
The Journeyman Press, Inc. of Newburyport, Mass. recently
added a new Speedmaster CD 102 to its pressroom to fulfill straight
configuration needs. Since the installation, the shop's
productivity has increased by approximately 30 percent. In
addition, the Speedmaster CD 102 has enabled the shop to run
heavier sheets with virtually no marking. The general commercial
printer produces a full range of materials on the new press,
including advertisements, point of purchase items and brochures.
Founded in 1979, The Journeyman Press is an all-Heidelberg shop
that houses 55 employees, and services clients in the healthcare,
biomedical, educational and research fields.
TriStar Graphics Doubles Output with Press, Prepress Equipment
from Heidelberg
A branch of TriStar Graphics Group, Inc. in Monroe, La.
recently doubled its output capabilities with the addition of a
Speedmaster 52 four-color press and a Prosetter 52. The new
equipment is being used to produce a wide range of materials,
including brochures, labels and coupons. Founded in 1988, TriStar
Graphics houses 55 employees in two locations and services clients
in 12 states. The general commercial printer features full
Heidelberg workflow systems, in both its Lafayette, La. and Monroe
plants.
Twomey Print Shop Increases Production with New Printmaster QM
46
Twomey Print Shop at Loyola University, based in New Orleans,
La., recently installed a Printmaster QM 46 press from Heidelberg
to expand its capabilities to include two-color work. The new press
is being used to produce annual reports, newsletters, business
cards and brochures at speeds averaging 5,000 impressions per hour.
With the new Printmaster QM 46, Twomey has increased productivity
and can complete large jobs in-house that once had to be
outsourced. Founded in 1980, this small, in-plant shop houses three
employees and services Loyola University and local nonprofit
organizations. The Printmaster QM 46 is Twomey Print Shop's first
Heidelberg press.
Vicknair Printing Develops Modern Workflow with Heidelberg's
Prosetter 74
Vicknair Printing recently transitioned its prepress
department from film processing to computer-to-plate technology
with the addition of a Prosetter 74 platesetter with MetaDimension
and Signa software. Vicknair Printing is located in Plaquemine,
La., and caters to regional clients in the industrial, insurance
and financial industries. Founded in 1978, the family-owned and
operated general commercial print shop houses eight employees.
Vicknair Printing has been a Heidelberg customer for more than 20
years.
Wallace Graphics Adds New Prosetter 102 and Prinect
Interface
Wallace Graphics, located in Stone Mountain, Ga., recently
added a Prosetter 102 violet platesetter and Prinect prepress
interface to improve efficiency and to accommodate the four-color
Speedmaster SM 102 installed earlier this year. The new equipment
has made the prepress process faster, more efficient and more
accurate. Wallace Graphics is a mid-size general commercial printer
that services a regional customer base of universities, credit
unions, insurance companies and religious organizations. The shop
houses 35 employees and has been in business since 1987.
Warrior Press Installs New Quicksetter 400E
Warrior Press in Lewiston, Idaho recently installed a new
Quicksetter 400E imagesetter with online polyprocessor to increase
productivity and improve efficiency in the prepress department. The
shop also purchased Cristala Quickplate Silver polyester plates,
made specifically for Heidelberg imagesetters. With the new
Quickmaster 400E, Warrior Press now creates plates in-house.
In addition, the imagesetter has made the shop's prepress process
faster and more efficient. The mid-sized in-plant printer services
Lewis-Clark College and local nonprofit agencies. Warrior Press has
been in operation for two years and houses five employees.
