Cowan Print Gives Its Company an Early Christmas Present

04.12.2008

Cowan Print is installing a Polar 78X with extended air tables to simplify and speed up the handling process. "This is the last spend this year except for presents for my kids," says Managing Director Craig Cowan.

The company, which is based in Kilsyth near Glasgow, decided to replace a 76-centimeter-wide Polar guillotine on reaching its 21st year: It decided that having already bought a Suprasetter and a Speedmaster SM 52-4, it needed additional cutting capacity to keep up.

"It was inevitable we chose Polar. They are very reliable machines," says Mr Cowan.

"We are finding business ok, we've been kept busy. To date the only impact the credit crunch has had is to make some companies pay more slowly."

Cowan Print is a family-run business, which started in 1987. 14 months ago it moved into a single factory unit.
