All Change at Mitcham Junction
14.02.2007
Mitcham Junction Press in Sutton is adding a second guillotine,
a POLAR 92 X. Although it will handle most of the work of the
15-year-old POLAR 92 EMC this guillotine is still working well so
will be retained as back up.
"It does the same job but the new POLAR is in a totally
different league," says Managing Director Myles Kelham.
"There is a much faster backgauge, the knife is quicker coming
down and has a deeper throat so that it can cut a higher stack. The
new nickel plated bed doesn't rust or tarnish and it is a machine
that is very easy to operate. I estimate that it is up to 20
percent faster cutting programmed jobs."
This third generation family firm, originally based in
Mitcham, produces a very wide range of high quality general
commercial work including brochures, leaflets and bookwork. The
company is a full Heidelberg house with presses up to B2 format and
POLAR cutting and Stahl folders in place.
"We were very pleased with the installation," says
Myles Kelham. "All the engineers took a real pride in what
they did and nothing was too much trouble."
