French print shop Frazier based in Paris ordered two Speedmaster XL
106 presses from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) at
drupa 2012 - a four-color and a five-color, each with a coating
unit and a print speed of 18,000 sheets an hour. These Peak
Performance Class presses will be installed in the second half of
2012 and are the first of this series in Paris. Heidelberg
premiered the Speedmaster XL 106 at drupa 2012, where it was the
best¬seller during the trade show. Before making its
investment, Frazier conducted various strict tests relating to
quality and productivity. Both criteria are essential for the
company, which specializes in high-quality, sophisticated print
products. Frazier produces brochures for the luxury goods industry,
posters, and annual reports. The two new presses will replace the
three existing ones. This will save a great deal of space, which is
a major benefit for companies based in the center of Paris.
Frazier was founded in 1896 and is part of the FIROPA Group.
The company currently employs 51 staff and has annual sales of EUR
9.6 million. "We opted for fully configured Speedmaster XL 106
presses to achieve maximum productivity and supply our customers
with the best possible products," explains Managing Director
Gérard Goujon. Both presses are equipped with the Prinect
Inpress Control color measuring system, which automatically
monitors and controls ink and register on the fly, thereby
resulting in less waste and reaching the OK sheet faster. The
investment also includes the AutoPlate XL plate changer, which
enables simultaneous changing of all printing plates. The presses
are easy to operate - for instance, users can start main functions
such as the automatic blanket washup programs directly from the
touchscreen on the feeder.
Presses score highly in sustainable printing
Frazier is heavily committed to environmental protection. The
company was awarded the "Imprim'Vert" label and is
therefore certified to FSC/PEFC and the ISO 14001 environ-mental
standard. The new Speedmaster XL 106 presses are equipped with the
FilterStar Compact, CleanStar, CombiStar, AirStar, and CoatingStar
peripherals, which make them the best performing and most
eco-friendly presses on the market. All the peripherals are cooled
using a water/glycol-based ventilation system. Strict compliance
with the specified emission limits and the energy efficiency of the
new Speedmaster XL 106 presses are confirmed by the
"Emission-tested Printing Press" quality seal awarded by
the German Institution for Statutory Insurance and Prevention in
the Printing and Paper Industry.
Frazier is certified to ISO 12647-2 and is a member of the
"Culture Papier" association. Only vegetable oil-based
inks are used in production.
