Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) is consistently
extending its position as the world market leader in the print
media industry.
At drupa 2000 (18 to 31 May, Düsseldorf), the
company has received orders in excess of 1.5 billion Euro.
"This fantastic result means that we have tripled the orders
received at drupa 1995. Our customers have been really impressed by
our new strategic orientation", states Bernhard Schreier,
Chairman of the Management Board at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen
AG.
For the first time at the world's most important industry
fair, the company was presenting complete solutions tailored to the
needs of its customers. These included printing presses, products
from the prepress and postpress stages, software, consumables and
services. "Our brillant success at drupa confirms our
customer-orientation and leading position on the market as a
competent solution provider covering all elements of the printing
process", claims Marketing and Sales Director Holger
Reichardt.
The successful launch onto the newspaper market was confirmed
by the biggest order Heidelberg has ever received at a fair. A
British publishing group ordered seven of Heidelberg's
newspaper web presses. The exhibition was also Heidelberg's
début on the market for digital color printing solutions, with
the presentation of the new NexPress 2100. Customers' reactions
to this innovative solution were extremely positive and underline
Heidelberg's commitment to the digital printing market.
The company is also delighted with the number of visitors.
Practically all of the 420,000 drupa visitors also visited the
Heidelberg halls.
