Heidelberg Postpress Deutschland GmbH (Heidelberg), Polar, Kama and
ATS Tanner Banding Systems (ATS) will be represented on a shared
booth on the Hunkeler Innovation Days 2011 (14th to 17th February
2011, exhibition site Lucerne, Switzerland). The single production
steps of a top-quality brochure with PUR-perfect binding will be in
the focus of the joined presentation. With its easy operation and
high automation features, the machines are integrated into one
seamless production workflow facing the challenges of print
products in smaller run length market, like book-on-demand
production for example.
The visitors can follow the live production from single
sheets to the perfect bound end product: After having cut the
sheets on a Polar 66 X cutter they are processed on a TH 56/6
buckle plate Stahlfolder to single signatures which then will be
bound to a finished product on the Eurobind 600 PUR perfect binder.
The cover itself will be finished with a hot foil stamping on an
automatic die-cutter Kama ProCut 53, the worldwide first flat-bed
die-cutter for A3-formats. Thanks to the change-over from punching
process to hot foil stamping in only ten minutes, the Kama ProCut
53 is predestined for the use in the short run printing market.
Downstream the automated TH 56 Stahlfolder a US-2000 FAB-A
folder bundler from ATS is installed. Due to the cooperation of
both companies, users of Heidelberg folding technology will profit
by the comprehensive know-how of ATS in the area of economical
banding and packaging technology.
