PowderStar - as Little Powder as Possible, as Much Powder as Necessary.
The models of the PowderStar series are optimally integrated into
the relevant Speedmaster press and designed to ensure a perfect
pile with sheets lying flat in the delivery while also minimizing
the amount of powder used. As a result, powder consumption is
reduced by 30-50 percent.
The PowderStar AP 232 and PowderStar AP 262 are two basic Heidelberg units offering precise powder metering. The powder is applied using up to twelve spray nozzles.
The PowderStar AP 500 is the top powder application system for straight printing presses. Powder is sprayed onto the sheet with significantly greater momentum and is spread over the sheet extremely evenly with up to 24 nozzles. A high-speed cycle ensures that only the sheet and not the gripper rods are sprayed. As a result, up to 50 percent less powder is used, there is much less contamination of the delivery and the area around the press, and longer periods can be left before intermediate washing is required.
PowderStar AP 500 Duo is the highly-efficient powder application system for perfecting printing. The spray nozzles are distributed between three powder tubes and complemented by a powder bar in the sheet guide plate that sprays the sheet from below from a very small distance, without any gripper bars in between. The same principle, but without powdering from below, is used in the PowderStar AP 500 P.
Most powder spray devices in the PowderStar series can be controlled from the Prinect Press Center using CAN connection.
