Print Color Management
Red sections in the layout should not turn out orange on the print.
For maximum colour fidelity, Heidelberg offers you Print Colour
Management (PMC) - a unique process for the perfect coordination of
prepress equipment and presses that shortens make-ready times,
reduces waste and results in more cost-effective production.
Features (five-step program)
-
Consultancy: in-depth analysis of current color data
workflows, discussion about possible improvement, definition of
objectives, establishment of implementation schedule
-
Standardization: definition of conditions for implementing
PCM and of color standards
-
Optimizing the prepress: calibration of all output devices
so that they always supply identical results, adjustment of
imagesetters to ensure required dot gain in print
-
Optimizing the press: optimization of color presetting
profiles stored in the machine control system for respective inks
and papers to ensure the greatest possible consistency with color
settings done at the prepress level (CIP-3)
-
Creating ICC color profiles: measurement of the color
space of the printing press and upstream output systems.
Generated data is fed into workflow (RIP, Proofer) and ensures
true color across all steps of the production process (Proof,
Monitor)
Benefits
- Greater productivity from the very first step to the final
print
- Greater reliability and consistency in print quality
- Shorter make-ready times, less waste
- True-color proofs
