The Next Generation Press: Speedmaster CX 102

The IPEX show held in Birmingham UK in May this year heralded the world premiere of the latest addition to the Heidelberg range of presses - the Speedmaster CX 102.

The Speedmaster CX 102 combines innovative solutions of the Speedmaster XL 105 technology with the successful Speedmaster CD 102 platform. This results in a state-of-the-art press which gives you the competitive edge to cope with increasingly demanding market challenges.

In addition to the impressive productivity, the Speedmaster CX 102 captivates by its flexibility. Light-weight paper or bending-resistant cardboard can be handled by the press as well as colored or transparent plastic sheets.

Thanks to the modular design, customized press configurations are possible, ranging from the conventional straight-printing press right to the Duo configuration with coating unit before the offset units, the Speedmaster CX 102 leaves no wishes unfulfilled. Be it UV operation, mixed UV operation, or double-coating application - there are countless inline finishing possibilities, including cold-foil application with FoilStar.

These characteristics make this press the ideal tool for packaging printing, label printing, and high-grade commercial jobs.

The highlights:

  • Production speed of up to 16,500 sheets per hour
  • The high-performance Prinect Press Center control console
  • The patented decentralized control platform Sheetfed Control from Heidelberg
  • Highly automated Preset Plus Feeder and Preset Plus Delivery
  • Also included are the innovative gripper system and the state-of-the-art high-performance cylinder bearings from the Speedmaster XL 105 technology
  • Reinforced printing unit construction in new design
