Did you know there are two lubrication cartridges per station on
all TH/KH folders, all TD/KD folders and all ST300 stitcher lines?
These lubrication cartridges are designed to apply a given quantity of grease over a six month period to ensure that a sufficient amount of grease is distributed to the gears. You should also be aware that Heidelberg lubricant is more viscous than 'general purpose' greases which ensures that the grease carries 'up-hill' through the gear train to provide optimum lubrication.
These lubrication cartridges are available for $59.95.With aftermarket cartridges you may be able to save $10, but these cartridges do not guarantee this same standards of high quality as the Heidelberg cartridges do. Aftermarket cartridges with a longer discharge period and/or a general purpose grease, might save you $80 per year on grease, but make sure you balance this with the clear risk that the gear train may be under lubricated, that the general purpose grease may struggle to coat the gears above the lubrication point, and that this can leading to premature machine down time.
