Next Generation Course an Outstanding Success

Heidelberg recently ran the first Next Generation course at the
Melbourne Print Media Academy (PMA). Course participants, who came
from across the print media industry in Australia and New Zealand,
have declared the course an outstanding success.
The Next Generation course is designed specifically for the Australia and New Zealand market, where participants can learn skills to help them reach the next level in their career development. Participants ranged from print shop managers, to middle managers in larger enterprises and all were individuals identified by their employers as potential leaders and managers for the future.
Developed in consultation with international and local print media experts, the Next Generation course covers topics such as Marketing, Occupational Health and Safety, Management skills, finance and accounting, leadership and print market trends. The all-important topic of Eco responsibility was also covered, recognising that managers of tomorrow must have a sound grasp of this subject.
David Pell from RA Printing said of the course, "it was a great seminar and a very positive experience. It was also a real wake-up call to what's needed in order to succeed in the future."
Ricky Howes from GEON in New Zealand said, "I left the course feeling empowered and eager to implement positive changes at work."
The Next Generation course will be run again in 2009 with repeat programs planned for Melbourne as well as in Sydney and Auckland, making the course more accessible to participants in these large centres. Heidelberg's website and E-newsletter will publish details of upcoming courses.
The Melbourne PMA is part of Heidelberg's global PMA network. Built in 2007, the Melbourne PMA is a purpose-built demonstration and training centre and one of three in the Asia-Pacific region (with others located in Malaysia and China). Around the world Heidelberg has 13 Print Media Academies.
