For the second time Polar has been awarded the globally respected
technology award in the United States - on this occasion for their
PACE Automated Cutting system.
In 1999 Polar won this award for its Compucut system for
linking pre-press to their cutters, a process which is now widely
used by many printers in Australia and New Zealand.
The PACE dramatically increases cutting productivity using
their Autotrans transport grippers to transport the material to the
cutter and their Autoturn turning gripper which positions the reams
on the rear table and aligns them for cutting. PACE has the
capability of performing up to six cuts fully-automatically, thus
freeing the operator for other functions around the machine without
any interruption to the cutting cycles.
The removal of cutting waste is also done automatically with
Polar's Autotrim.
PACE will either reduce the manning from two- to one-man
operation or it doubles the efficiency of a system operated by one
single person.
Since drupa 2004, even the jogging process can be carried out
without any operator by integrating the fully automated Autojog
jogging system into a cutting system.
POLAR's PACE systems provide highly-efficient and
innovative solutions for both printed and unprinted materials,
which means an enormous potential for saving personnel costs while
increasing productivity.
Polar's PACE system will be featured at our combined
cutting and converting Open House in October, and can be seen
alongside the Varimatrix 105CS die cutter and Easygluer 100 folding
box gluer.
