At Drupa 2008 Heidelberg released Prinect Press Center - the new
control system for all Speedmaster presses. Prinect Press Center
marks the start of a new generation of intelligent control systems
and follows the hugely successful CP2000 control consol familiar to
many.
Prinect Press Center incorporates a new operating system
called Intellistart. Intellistart has been developed to improve
efficiency and reduce errors when changing jobs. It follows a new
process-oriented operating concept.
By comparing the old job with the new one, the steps required
to set up the press for a job change are compiled in the form of a
dynamic, process oriented list that is worked through automatically
with the help of a "one-touch" button.
Automatic processes are brought into parallel and completed
independently in a logical sequence.
Intellistart minimises setup times on the presses and
optimises workflows.
What's more, its operation-supported automation makes the
current individual functions easier to handle, even for less
experienced printers.
Another first from Heidelberg at Drupa was the introduction
of a wall screen built into the press' operating console. The wall
screen gives the printer a complete overview of the press
operations, along with a full size image of the printed sheet.
'Wallscreen' can also display colour separations, sheet brake
positioning, colour measurement readings and all press reporting
functions.
Both Prinect Print Centre and Intellistart are completely
upgradable, ensuring that as this technology evolves
systems can be kept current.
