Consuming Passions - Heidelberg Consumables Online Shop
Following Heidelberg Australia and New Zealand's (HAN) launch of
its restructured consumables business eighteen months ago, HAN will
soon launch its Consumables Online shop a first for the
Australia/New Zealand market.
With access to nearly 1,000 consumables items online customers will be able to search for items based on their individual needs and start the ordering process. It will also offer functions, such as allowing customers to maintain their own shopping lists and reviewing their online ordering history.
Although online ordering of consumables is fairly new to the trans Tasman marketplace it is not new for Heidelberg on a global level. Online shops have been operating successfully in many European and North American countries. With the launch of its own shop, HAN will draw from the vast experience from these markets.
"It's not just about ease of use but also price and quality." says Kevin Birch, HAN's Product Manager for Consumables. "We want to be competitive and at the same time ensure quality. Our customers, and the marketplace in general, have high expectations of Heidelberg and with every product we add to our range, we ensure that quality, performance and service expectations are exceeded every time. Sometimes the initial price may seem higher compared to other alternatives on the market however in the long term you will save money with our inks, for example, because you end up using less product due to greater coverage from higher pigment content."
Birch adds, "We know how important time saving initiatives are for our smaller customers. If you can save 10 minutes here and there and avoid time consuming back office processes by ordering consumables online, then you're already winning."
With online ordering of consumables personalised shopping information, offering customised lists of frequently ordered items, is available upon login. The Heidelberg Online Shop enables customers to order their consumables items 24/7, offering greater flexibility in ensuring that consumables supplies are kept replenished without taking them away from day to day operations.
The account registration will be available at HAN's website from January 2007 and the Online Shop will be open for business from April 2007.
