When a local paper sales person and the wife of a prominent New
Zealand printer were diagnosed with breast cancer in February this
year, the local print community in Christchurch came together to
form a charitable trust - Full Colour Trust. The trust was formed
to support any member of the local print industry who needed
support for medical problems.
The first recipient of the trust is Mhairi Flett, mother of
two young children and wife of Jonathon Flett from Pak World in
Christchurch. The trust held a Ball and Auction on 3rd of November
with over 300 hundred people attending. The ball and auction raised
over $70,000 dollars towards the drug Mhairi needs to have a good
chance of recovery.
Hemi Brown, National Sales Manager for Heidelberg New Zealand
presented the trust with a cheque for $12,000 on behalf of
Heidelberg Australia & New Zealand. "It is great to see
how well the whole print community in Christchurch pulled together
in Mhairi's hour of need," Brown said.
