Staff Profile: Werner Ognitzki - Technical Sales Support Specialist in Heidelberg New Zealand
Werner Ognitzki, or Ogi as he prefers to be known, is a
Master Book Binder with over 30 years experience in the field of
finishing. Ogi joined Heidelberg New Zealand last year, taking up
the new role of Technical Sales Support Specialist - Postpress.
Starting in the industry as an apprentice book binder, Ogi
has tried his hand at many things, all of which have contributed to
his extensive industry experience. Upon finishing his
apprenticeship, Ogi became a tradesman working for many years as a
hand-book binder. He pursued his interest in industrial print
finishing and in addition to learning day to day, he studied for
his Masters degree in Industrial Print Finishing by taking evening
classes over a three year period. Ogi has worked as a technical
sales support specialist, a production manager, as well as running
his own print finishing company.
Ogi has lived in New Zealand for 10 years and joined
Heidelberg 11 months ago to strengthen Heidelberg's customer
support for Post Press. As the New Zealand print market developed
and our customers made many new investments in bindery equipment
Heidelberg brought on Ogi to ensure our customers get the best from
their investments. Ogi spends much of his day in the field working
hands on with our customers on anything from small format Stahl
Ti52 folders and Polar 78 cutters to ST400 saddle stitchers and
TH82 folders. He shares his expertise with operators, carryout
training and fine-tuning as well as trouble shooting and assisting
in the set up of tricky jobs, making sure they run as smooth as
possible. He's also on hand to help customers make the right
choice when investing in new bindery machinery, helping to
spec' the machine with the right options and accessories.
