Printech 2006 was held in Auckland from 11 to 13 June, hard on the
heels of the NZ Pride in Print Awards.
The show attracted the Prime Minister of New Zealand Helen
Clark, who was there to launch Printing Industries New Zealand's
new brand and visit key exhibitors, including Heidelberg.
The Prime Minister showed an interest in the health of the print
industry in New Zealand and the history of Heidelberg in the
country.
Visitor numbers were down slightly from last year, due mainly
to a power outage caused by high winds, which lasted all of the
second day of the exhibition.
Heidelberg held presentations on IPEX innovations, Prinect
workflow and a cafe to host guests.
Two Open House evenings were held at Heidelberg's Mt
Wellington showroom. The focus of these events was on solutions for
A3 printers including a "Shootout" between SM52, PM52 and
GTO52. Running the three presses together, job for job, guests
could see via this live demonstration the benefits small printers
can achieve through automation.
