The third annual Printscape event to be held at Heidelberg's Sydney
showroom took place last month. Demonstrating a full range of
Heidelberg prepress, press and finishing equipment, including a
complete Prinect workflow, Printscape 2006 offered Heidelberg
guests the chance to see a powerhouse of equipment suitable for
packaging, industrial and label printers.
Guests came to Sydney from around Australia and New Zealand
to see the latest Heidelberg technology. The event also served to
launch the Varimatrix die cutter to the Australia/New Zealand
market.
While the Varimatrix was the 'star of the show' few people
could ignore the Speedmaster XL105, especially when it ran up to
its top speed of 18,000 sheets per hour in a very short time after
completing a job change from paper to board in under 15
minutes.
Andrew Durrans, Managing Director of Brebner Print in New
Zealand, said, "Printscape was a great opportunity to see the vast
range of Heidelberg equipment in one place. It also provided a good
opportunity to network with colleagues, friends and competitors. I
believe both New Zealand and Australian print industries benefit
from mixing together; Australia isn't a direct competitor and that
creates an environment in which you can freely talk and share
experiences.
It was terrific to see the end to end solutions from
Heidelberg and how it all comes together. I've seen the XL105
before and am interested in the technology and its future
perfecting capabilities. It's a very impressive machine, as is the
Varimatrix die cutter."
On show at Printscape was the:
- Speedmaster XL105
- Varimatrix 105 CS Die Cutter
- Polar 137 XT Cutter and Handling System II
- Stitchmaster ST350 saddlestitcher
- Stahlfolder TH82
- Suprasetter 105 CtP Imagesetter
- Prinect Workflow
While all of the equipment at Printscape has been sold, it
will remain in the showroom until customer installations begin over
the coming months.
