Prinect Inspection Control

05/24/2013

Topmost quality calls for an ultra-precise checking system. Even the smallest of printing errors can incur large-scale costs, as well as damaging a print shop's reputation. Especially packaging printing for pharmaceutical or brand products, label printing and printing security documents demands a production process that is not only rock-solid and reliable but delivers maximum quality.

The inline sheet inspection system Prinect Inspection Control is a virtuoso in this field. A high-resolution two-camera system, integrated in the coating unit, inspects every single sheet and continuously compares each one with a digital reference sheet. This means that printing and material errors can be identified early on and pinpointed in the delivery pile. Not only does it perform a 100 percent check on every single sheet, but its early-warning system also saves considerable amounts of waste sheets.
Print shops from all over the world operating a Speedmaster XL 105 with Prinect Inspection Control sing its praises.
August Faller KG in Waldkirch, Germany is specialized in packaging production for the pharmaceutical industry and has been operating with an XL 105 and Prinect Inspection Control since end-2007. The company describes buying the press as one of the best investments they've made in recent years. "The reliable detection of errors before beginning printing and during the production run was one of our main decision criteria that spoke for the Speedmaster 105. Detecting errors early on, as well as during production printing has enabled us to considerably reduce waste materials and our additional work costs are practically zero. The high text and production reliability raises the finished product dependability, as well as overall product quality and this press can now meet specific customer demands for 100% quality," says Peter Ganter, Head of Print Production, summing up the benefits. Now Faller only ever wants to equip its future presses with Prinect Inspection Control and intends to upgrade old presses.

Even customers in Japan, a country that is a hard taskmaster when it comes to quality, are thrilled. The Japanese printer Kinyosha Printing in Tokyo has not only cut error rates by around 50%, it has also significantly curtailed the amount of work a printer needs to invest to achieve good quality and still has raised press productivity by an incredible 30%.

The American packaging printers Nosco with their works in Illinois and Texas and Carded Graphics in Staunton, Virginia, are proud of their increase in productivity and quality. Nosco reports that since they introduced Prinect Inspection Control the figures for waste materials have dropped by 2.1% and they were even able to avert the threat of having to reprint a print run with 300,000 sheets.

Prinect Inspection Control is in operation throughout the world and the demand is growing rapidly. Due to the fact that the print buyers are demanding more and more 100% quality control Prinect Inspection Control is a crucial part of the Heidelberg packaging solution.
