Colorcam Multi-Shot, the first A3 scanner with FireWire
connection and new PC scanning software for desktop scanners open
up new possibilities for the photographic and publishing industry
Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) will be
presenting an extended range of products for the photographic and
publishing industry at Photokina in Cologne from 20 through 25
September. At its stand in Hall 09/1, A038 - B038, the world market
leader for printing and publishing solutions will also be setting
new standards for professional digital solutions in the
photographic industry.
Colorcam multi-shot feature
In addition to the digital one-shot camera back
Colorcam, which was successfully introduced to an international
audience at drupa in May, Heidelberg is now presenting the
multi-shot camera back at Photokina. The Piezo technology which has
now been integrated makes 1+ shot, 4 shot and 16 shot modes
possible, in addition to the original 1 shot feature. The Piezo
element barely moves the data chip in 1+, 4 and 16 shot modes,
thereby ensuring moiré-free pictures. This means that the
Colorcam's image quality can even be used for
ultra-high-quality applica- tions such as large-format printing or
direct repro.
New Linoscan 2650 scanner
The new Linoscan scanner family presented at CeBIT in
the spring has been extended by the Linoscan 2650 for Photokina.
The A3+ scanner is the first in its class to support both SCSI and
FireWire connections, setting a whole new standard in terms of
speed. Alongside the Linoscan 2650, which runs under the Mac OS
operating system, Heidelberg will also be presenting the Linoscan
1400 and the Linoscan 1800, an A4 unit offering 3048 dpi optical
resolution.
Newcolor 5000 now available
Also on display will be the newly developed PC scanning
software Newcolor 5000, which is based on the high-end Newcolor
7000 solution presented at drupa. Newcolor 5000 has a completely
redesigned interface, a new assistant and optimized calculation
algorithms, thereby opening up a whole range of new possibilities
for the PC platform in the field of professional scanning
solutions.
Extended color management
Heidelberg's stand will also feature the new Version 4.0
of the familiar Color Management solutions Scanopen, Viewopen and
Printopen. This new version has a new, significantly improved and
standardized design, and includes even more functions than before.
Viewopen, for example, supports the calculation of complex ICC
profiles and matrix profiles for optimum use in Photoshop, while
Printopen allows black generation to be checked as early as the
proofing stage.
