Speedmaster XL 105 - User Report: Raff GmbH

The print shop Raff GmbH in Riederich sees itself as a supplier of services and solutions. It manufactures emotionally appealing prints that are often manufactured in combination with materials such as metal or textiles. The "main contractor for complete solutions" has already received a number of awards for such extraordinary projects.

For almost one year, Raff has been processing orders with an average print volume of 3,000 to 40,000 copies with a Speedmaster XL 105-6. Thanks to the larger sheet format of 75 x 105 centimeter, the number of pages per sheet is increased by up to 25 percent for certain jobs. "The Speedmaster XL 105 produces mark-free prints, without scratches. That is particularly important for us, because we often work with metalized paper", explains Lars Schmidt, Technical Manager of Raff. Moreover, he lauds the reliable performance of the press, even at high speeds of 18,000 sheets per hour. "All in all, the production-run speed of the Speedmaster XL 105 is 20 to 25 percent higher than that of the Speedmaster CD 102 we used before". Occasionally, Raff produces prints with a surface coverage of up to 340 percent - no problem with the new inking/dampening unit Hycolor.
