Engelhardt & Bauer in Karlsruhe was the first company in the world to use the Speedmaster XL 105. The high-quality commercial print jobs that it presently processes with 114 employees range from annual business reports, art books and illustrated books to various brochure formats. Since the Speedmaster
XL 105-5 has been installed, the productivity of Engelhardt & Bauer has risen, thanks to the flexible applicability of the press: "With the XL 105, we can print on any material - be it cardboard or thin paper. For large-scale jobs, we make full use of the maximum printing speed of 18,000 sheets per hour. Owing to Autoplate Advanced, plates are changed in less time, so we can handle rather small jobs rapidly," says Bernhard Konz, Technical Manager of the printing company.

Another aspect - particularly important for high-quality commercial print jobs - is that "with the new inking/dampening unit Hycolor, we can apply far more ink to the paper."
