Added value for customers results in additional orders.
The Hungarian print shop Pera Nyomda in Budapest has been
working with the region's first Eurobind 4000 adhesive binder since
the end of last year. The greater quality of the adhesive bound
products and the increased ability to meet delivery deadlines have
given the company a springboard to attract new business. "The
Eurobind 4000 has boosted our productivity and given us the means
to process high-quality printed sheets into end products in
house," explains László Kvassay, owner of Pera
Nyomda. In the first two months, the company has already supplied
300,000 brochures. Its product spectrum consists primarily of
monthly magazines, journals, catalogs, and brochures. Most of the
output is for the Hungarian market, with some five to ten percent
destined for export. Pera Nyomda is a full-service print shop
employing a workforce of 30. Its prepress equipment includes a
Suprasetter 105 SCL, while its pressroom is equipped with two
alcohol-free Speedmaster SM 102-8P and Speedmaster CD 74-8P units.
Its postpress section includes five Stahlfolder units, an
Stitchmaster ST 450 saddlestitcher, a POLAR 92 X cutter, and a
POLAR 137 XT Autotrim cutter.
The highly automated Eurobind 4000 adhesive binder which was
presented as a serial machine at drupa 2008 by Heidelberger
Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) produces 4,000 adhesive-bound
brochures per hour. 28 units have already been sold worldwide.
The Eurobind 4000 fits well into the Pera Nyomda workflows
since it also produces short and medium length runs in top binding
quality and strength. Simultaneous motorized format adjustment is
performed across the entire workflow from gathering station and
binder to three-side trimmer. This ensures quick and easy job and
format changes. The polyurethane nozzle technology gives Pera
Nyomda the technology it needs to produce high-quality brochures
and books quickly and cost-effectively. Both thin products with
spine thicknesses of two millimeters and above and
60-millimeter-thick books can be processed in a wide range of
formats.
The Eurobind 4000 recently won the prestigious "iF
product design award 2009". Its ergonomic design and the high
reliability of the production process played a key role in this
success.
