The future digital photography market
After approximately one year of successful cooperation in the production and marketing of the Colorcam professional digital camera system, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG and JENOPTIK Laser Optik Systeme GmbH have further strengthened their collaboration in the digital photography and prepress markets.
The market success of the system, which combines a high-resolution camera back from JENOPTIK with professional workflow-oriented software from Heidelberg, has encouraged both companies to push ahead with the next generation of digital image capture systems and to utilize existing development potential.
Heidelberg brings to the partnership both its comprehensive printing know-how and future developments of its Linocolor Cam software which has been geared to the needs of digital photography. JENOPTIK's new hardware will be developed with the Linocolor Cam software in mind - a fact which will help speed up soft-ware and hardware innovations. Benefits for the customer include short reaction times, improved ability to meet market requirements, and the peace of mind of a service they can rely on.
JENOPTIK will use its expertise in the photography sector to ensure successful sales of the system on this market. In addition, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG's sales partners will be able to benefit directly from JENOPTIK's photographic knowledge in future, so that the accumulated expertise can also be utilized in the prepress sector in future.
