Varimatrix 105 CSF

1. Feeder

You are completely flexible with the Varimatrix 105 CSF because it processes a huge range of printing stocks, including paper with a weight of just 80 grams per square meter, card/solid board weighing up to 1,400 grams per square meter, and corrugated board with a maximum thickness of 2 millimeters (0.08 inch) for hot foil embossing and 4 millimeters (0.16 inch) for die cutting and stripping. The Varimatrix 105 CSF combines outstanding quality with efficient workflows - at processing speeds of up to 6,000 sheets an hour for hot foil embossing and 7,500 sheets an hour for die cutting and stripping. Sheet formats ranging from a minimum of 350 x 400 millimeters (13.78 x 15.75 inches) to a maximum of 750 x 1,050 millimeters (29.53 x 41.34 inches) can be processed. There are also very few limits in respect of the foils required as these are supplied by a number of manufacturers in a wide range of colors.

2. Cutting Station With Hot Foil Module

For hot foil embossing, the die cutting plate consists of a base plate 3.5 millimeters (0.14 inch) thick and another plate 1.5 millimeters (0.06 inch) thick that ensures optimum contact pressure for relief embossing. The thin cutting plate facilitates setup and results in outstanding embossing quality. The die cutting plate has holes at the corners and is held in place on the steel plate by pins. This allows quick and precise positioning after setup.

3. Chase Changing System

New hot foils or die cutting jobs can be prepared on the optional chase-changing table while another job is still being die cut or embossed in the machine. Thanks to their ergonomic design, a single operator can pull the large chases straight out of the machine onto the chase-changing table. During a job change, the honeycomb plate can be pulled from the machine onto the chase-changing table. The table can be rotated through 180 degrees, enabling easy insertion of the prepared honeycomb plate for the new job in the cutting station. This results in much shorter make-ready times when there is just one operator.

4. Stripping Station - Foil Infeed

The rolls of foil are unwound in the die cutter's stripping station where they can be positioned on shafts over a working width of 1,020 millimeter (40.16 in). The infeed aid makes it much easier to feed in the foil during setup, resulting in much shorter setup times.

5. Delivery and Foil Disposal

The Varimatrix 105 CSF can be equipped with a rewinder or brush system to dispose of used foil. The rewinder enables foils to be wound onto six independent shafts in a dedicated module. Optical control elements prevent foil breaks by ensuring foil tension remains stable. The brush system removes used foil from the side of the machine, where it can be collected and disposed of.
