Speedmaster SM 74 - User Report: Windhüterdruck
"The Speedmaster SM 74 and nothing else"
At the Windhüterdruck print shop
in Schorndorf, Germany, the Speedmaster SM 74-2-P-H delivers
high quality and customer satis- faction.
Flexibility, fast delivery and first-rate print products -
for Bruno Zucchi these are the fundamental elements of a successful
print business. The owner of Windhüterdruck in Schorndorf
relies on a two-color Speedmaster SM 74 with perfecting device and
high-pile delivery to impress his customers every time. The result:
satisfied customers and a much higher level of productivity.
"With my new SM 74 productivity has gone up by 25
percent," affirms Zucchi.
Over a year ago, the Windhüterdruck print shop replaced
its older Speedmaster SM 74-2-P-H with the Speedmaster SM 74-2-P-H
model with a new feeder introduced at drupa in 2004. The print shop
was founded in 1983 and its customers include leading suppliers to
the automobile industry, publishing houses and theaters in and
around Stuttgart.

Details
Bruno Zucchi wanted to purchase a new press in order to offer
utmost reliability, the highest print quality and stay competitive
on an increasingly demanding market. The Speedmaster SM 74-2-P-H
was his first choice. "With our SM 74 we primarily print 4/4
color products from brochures and handbooks, to high-quality
corporate brochures for the automobile industry, to theater
programs, cultural maga- zines and beyond. Runs range from 1,000 to
100,000," Zucchi explains. "The SM 74's outstanding
print quality, its much shorter set up times and Heidelberg's
excellent service convinced me from the very start to make the
purchase."
Feeder with central suction tape
Especially important for Zucchi is the ease of use of the
feeder on the Speedmaster SM 74. "I can adjust the settings
for all kinds of stock extremely fast. I enter the values on the
touchscreen of the Prinect CP2000 and that's it," says
Bruno Zucchi. "I've almost forgotten everything making a
job change used to involve. I can't imagine working without the
Speedmaster SM 74."
Especially the Prinect CP2000 Center touchscreen display
reduces the printer's work considerably. "Touchscreen is the
best thing for a printer. It's simpler, I can adjust settings
more quickly and it doesn't cause any problems." Moreover,
any questions that might arise could be answered over the telephone
around the clock thanks to the Heidelberg Remote Service.
Bruno Zucchi says he has reached his goals with his new
Speedmaster SM 74 and is enthusiastic. "The Speedmaster SM 74
is the best machine for me - it's this and nothing else."
