Heidelberg Saphira Bio LT Process Inks Awarded EcoLogoM
Accreditation
Mississauga, Ontario - Following successful verification by
TerraChoice Environmental Marketing Inc., Heidelberg Canada has
obtained accreditation for the Saphira Bio LT Process Inks for the
EcoLogoM Program.
Saphira Bio LT Process Inks are designed to meet the
demanding requirements of today's environmentally responsible
printer. These inks combine outstanding lithographic
performance, press productivity and print quality while
containing extremely low levels of Volatile Organic Compounds
(typically 2-3% by EPA Method 24).
"Saphira Bio LT Process Ink's formulation objectives were
clear," explains Jean-Francois Colpron, Vice President,
Product Management and Marketing. "Customers told us that
they want products with significant, quantifiable environmental
benefits, but not at the expense of performance." Saphira Bio
LT Process Inks set a new industry benchmark for green
lithographic ink technology with formulations having 30% or more
vegetable oil content and over 60% bio-derived renewable raw
material content.
"Saphira Bio LT Process Inks underwent an extended period of
beta customer tests to validate press performance, with industry
feedback being unanimously positive," comments Colpron.
Saphira Bio LT Process Inks combine the press stability
benefits of 100% solids, resulting in unparalleled setting and
drying speed. Printers are finding that this powerful
combination of performance features allows them to increase
production throughput and reduce waste. They are experiencing
that Saphira Bio LT Process Inks allow them to cut printed sheets
in as little as fifteen minutes after printing, with subsequent
stitching and trimming possible in less than two hours.
Saphira Bio LT Process Inks conform to GRACoL G7
Certification and ISO 2846-1 Standards. "The original
customer value proposition was all about environment
responsibility. We now realize that lithographic performance and
pressroom efficiency are the key drivers that differentiate Saphira
Bio LT Process Inks from other environmental responsible sheetfed
inks in the market," Colpron adds.
